| 概要 | Paragonimiasis (also known as lung fluke infection) is a food-borne parasitic disease caused by infection with trematodes belonging to the genus Paragonimus. Human infections occur by consuming freshwater crustaceans (second intermediate host) or wild boar meat (paratenic host). Paragonimiasis is generically insidious in its onset and mildly chronic in its course. The first report of an adult Paragonimus fluke obtained from humans dates back to 1879. |
