Description | Chlamydophila (Cp.) pneumoniae is an obligate intracellular bacteria that causes human respiratory infections. Most acute respiratory infections are asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic. Repeated or prolonged exposure to Cp. pneumoniae is associated with asthmatic bronchitis and asthma, and chronic infection can contribute to the development of adult-onset asthma. |
