Description | Rhodococcus equi is an aerobic, gram-positive bacillus. R. equi infection is rare in humans, but it can cause potentially fatal disease in immunocompromised patients. Although the clinical spectrum of R. equi infection is broad, pulmonary involvement is a predominant feature in most cases. |
