概要 | Paternal uniparental disomy 14 syndrome is characterized by characteristic face, a small bell-shaped thorax with coat-hanger appearance of the ribs, abdominal wall defects, placentomegaly and polyhydramnios. Human chromosome 14q32.2 carries a cluster of imprinted genes including paternally expressed genes (PEGs) such as DLK1 and RTL1 and maternally expressed genes (MEGs) such as MEG3, RTL1as (RTL1 antisense) and MEG8, together with the intergenic differentially methylated region (IG-DMR) and the MEG3-DMR. It has been reported that epimutations (hypermethylations) and microdeletions affecting the IG-DMR and/or the MEG3-DMR, result in paternal uniparental disomy 14 like phenotype. Recently, the name 'Kagami-Ogata syndrome' has been approved for this clinically recognizable disorder. |
